Wave 63

Hey guys!

So if the title didn’t give it away I’ve targeted the fire cape as my one of my short term goals.
I made my first 3 attempts with a rune crossbow and despite making it to Jad comfortably each day time I failed on Jad sadly. After those first 3 attempts I was ready to quit purely because of the sheer amount of time it takes at 70 ranged and the rune crossbow... I’m talking like around 2 hours a run. I blame this mainly on the rune crossbows dps and me learning the mechanics of the actual caves.

After that 3rd attempt I decided I needed that blowpipe to speed up my runs...so after several hours and a few thousand darts at the yaks I hit 75 ranged and invested in a blowpipe! And WOW!! Yeah my runs time to get to Jad are less than an hour easily now!

So back to the fightcaves I went with high hopes I’d get to Jad and show him who’s boss...
... well no I haven’t shown him anything. I have the mechanics down fine and in each of the 4 attempts since having the blowpipe I have got to the healers and started to aggro them and each time I’ve died
It’s really frustrating because I’m super calm up to Jad and wham I forget what my name is and start panicking. As much people say stay calm, which I know I need to do. I just get a surge of adrenaline and get super excited!

So that’s it, I’m still working on it. Normally once a day I try but it is becoming quite expensive now so I’m not sure how much longer I can keep it up!

Yeah I can relate. I died countless times at Zulrah because I would get excited and start messing up. I haven't done jad yet and I probably should lol. I think you'll get it one day. You are persistent and that is good. Unlike me, who quit halfway through because I got bored....

When I got to the wave before Jad I logged out and went on a walk, just to calm down and not to think about Jad. It worked for me, Jad was easy!

I’ve not tried him again yet, still at 7 attempts! I’m just getting some funds for more attempts now. Blowpipe is fast but expensive

I'd suggest a rcb until your first kill.

as stupid as it may sound to some... but here is why...

with a RCB it is cheaper (less painful on unsuccessful attempts)
you have greater range ( help with your lures to save supplies!)
you can use diamond e for Jad.
you have a shield spot (again, saves supplies)

the more supplies you have at Jad, the more you can save yourself, recoop then go again without the gauntlet again.

the RCB method is more chilled, better to get the hang of Jad with IMO. but then, each to their own.

I do see your point, I was mainly using the blowpipe for speed. I tear through the waves in half the time it takes with the crossbow but you do make a good point on supplies!

So update... my attempt today went almost perfect. I had all the healers, my prayer flicks were on point and then I get a lag spike... Jad whacks me with a 62 which I take but almost simultaneously a healer hits me and K.Os me. I had him down to below 50 ho too!
Annoying as it is I’m confident I have the fight down now providing I don’t lag!

I used a crystal bow to pull the healers which worked out just great

Well I gave jad a go... and died xD It wasnt too bad though. I surprised myself by making it to jad xD

I didn't realize there were 4 healers....I had 3 of them tagged. They were destroying me and jad was still getting healed. Rip. Do i tag 3 and start killing the healers? and then tag the 4th?

Edit: I just want to add, I can understand why you are frustrated. Feeling the same way here. I don't really care about the money spent on supplies tbh but still. When you spend a hour going through all that effort for it to end in failure because.. 1)You accidentally flick the wrong pray 2) You don't see where jad has spawned 3) You don't know how many healers there are.... and you are taking way too much damage trying to tank them...

I'm not giving up though. It took me 80 tries to get my first zulrah kill. Jad is definitely easier. Just the tedious process of getting there is time consuming.

So again I got let down by my pc, wave 58 and it froze whilst I was killing a 360. I don’t know what happened if I ran out of prayer or something but when I rebooted the client I was back outside the caves. Couldn’t believe it!

I got it on the first try this morning xD. Thank you for the tips guys. GTS Lord with the suggestion to use RCB for jad fight. Goats, Moon Light and ElCap for answering my noob questions.
